Open Call Architecture Biennale Venice 2018 #2
Open Call #2 Development Budget
Creative Industries Fund NL is calling on designers to submit a proposal for participation in the 16th edition of the Venice Architecture Biennale, which is being held from 26 May to 25 November 2018. Researchers and designers in the field of architecture are invited to submit proposals for the development of initiatives and projects that make a meaningful contribution to one of the main venues, such as the Arsenale or the country pavilions in the Giardini. Deadline is Wednesday 8 November 2017.
With the title FREESPACE, general curators of the 16th Venice Architecture Biennale, Yvonne Farrell and Shelley McNamara, address the relation between architecture and society. To read the press release about the FREESPACE theme, click here.
A precondition for this open call is a detailed motivation from an inviting party and/or curator. The development budget is intended to support studies/projects that make a physical/spatial contribution to the exploration of the theme FREESPACE during the Architecture Biennale in Venice. For example:
a follow-up or complement to a completed or ongoing research project;
designing and exhibiting an existing or ongoing research project/experiment during the Venice Architecture Biennale 2018;
projects that focus on the sharing of knowledge, such as a publication, event or symposium.
funding for the presentation of projects during the Venice Architecture Biennale can be applied for by way of the Open Call Venice Architecture Biennale #3, to be published in February 2018.
projects that receive a grant under the Open Calls Venice Architecture Biennale #1 and or #2 are not eligible for a grant for presentation costs by way of Open Call #3.
